UConn Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) & Campus Safety Program

In collaboration with the UConn Police Department, Off-Campus Student Services offers a UConn Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) & Campus Safety Program. This program offers women information around on and off-campus safety. Along with information from University Departments, this program offers a R.A.D. Self-Defense Program. The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. Bystander Empowerment Training will be offered for the Men through the Women’s Center here on campus. Please continue to check for upcoming trainings.

Commuter Appreciation Week

To acknowledge the extra effort commuter students make to come to class each day, Off-Campus Student Services is holding a variety of events in their honor.

Off-Campus Housing Listing Service

The off-campus housing website provides information on available housing options as well as message boards for communicating about roommates, furniture listings & sublet opportunities.

Property Showcase Info Tables

Local property managers showcase their properties at information tables in the Student Union the Spring semester. Please see our Calendar for the next Showcase!

Roommate Expos

The Off-Campus Roommate Expo is held each semester to provide an opportunity for students to meet other potential off-campus roommates face-to-face. We provide ice breakers, roommate surveys, roommate agreement forms and many other resources to help in selecting the right roommate. It is also an opportunity for students to sublet their apartment or match up with other students who are going abroad and are therefore in need of a short term lease. These expos have been a successful resource for many students to match up with a potential roommate.

Off-Campus Lunch & Learn Series

Several seminars are offered throughout the semester to help students find housing and/or learn their rights and responsibilities as a student, tenant and community member. Please see the events calendar for upcoming workshops.

Individual Consultation

A member of the staff meets with students individually or in a small group to answer questions and discuss concerns about living off-campus. Contact the office to schedule a time to meet with a staff member or email us at offcampus@uconn.edu.
